post (23 June)

man ain't this something else! there are people out there who are younger than the concept of mashing html and css into an editor to make your own lil section of nonsense online (of course there are, that's how time works). I'm in my thirties and that's that generational gap making itself known

centralised platforms do wonders to make you anxious. everything has stats attached, everything is about feedback, interaction, impact. I've never really had any web presence beyond the Unfortunates when I was young, stupid and unsupervised, but putting words I wrote and things I made out there makes me nauseous. so here is a blank canvas, a space that's my own, to craft into what I want to make of it.

and what DO i want to make of it? well, I'll probably treat it as a writing archive first and foremost. whether i like it or not, it can go here too. personal, original, fanfic, it'll get its own section! even if I consider my work middling at best, it's nice to think there's a section online that won't be crunched up easily into an algorithm or machine learning dataset without my consent where my heart and soul will remain untouched.

i think that's all. it's 3pm and i haven't slept - i woke up around 10pm, i think, so we're getting there. nocturnal and occassional night worker is a wombo combo when it doesn' work in your favour. take care, internet!
